COMPLICATIONS

Complications of surgery include:

• Incomplete excision leading to recurrent symptoms
  

• Fracture of the calcaneum

• Rupture of the Achilles tendon

• Surgical wound infection

• Shortening of the calcaneum (if osteotomy performed) and decreased toe off power
